Does any one in the areas have light Brahama Roo for sale. A friend of mines is looking for one.

Just a reminder: The fancy feather club will be having there spring show in Cookeville tommorrow.

Happy Easter to everybody! We started incubating a new clutch of eggs for the holiday. Special thanks to DMRippy who met my request for 8-10 new eggs for incubating with what you see in the picture.

We revamped the "Cheap-O-Bator" with a "new" cooler off of craigslist so now it has a higher capacity and is set up with the Tstat closer to the lights, pictures will be in another post elsewhere. It is working much better now though and looks better to boot. Again, Happy Easter to you all, I hope you are enjoying your family as much as I am.

I hope you have a good hatch so you can get the 3-4 more you want

Welcome to CHICKEN MATH! Mine are hatching! I had 10 out by Noon... my guess is there are about 30 by now but my son will not go look and tell me

I finally got over 160 eggs in the hatcher, a day late. I almost think I have better hatches when I leave them in the turner an extra day. Some were already pipped on day 19. These are not due till tomorrow, an Easter Hatch was fun for the kids and grandkids..... us too really.

Great looking bator... BTW Nice to meet you and your family too!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hey, y'all! Thought I'd post this boy here before I did it anywhere else because he is so cool. I want him to go to a good home. He's out of some eggs from CJExotic that I hatched out in February. She said he came out of her black/lav split pen. She called him something (so far as pattern goes), but I can't remember what it was. He's pretty cool looking. I was really hoping he would turn into a girl, but no luck.

I've got a black girl out of that same hatch that can go with him. PM me if you are interested.

How is your Dad?

Dad is okay. I think he is better. He's not so sure. :)
They have moved him down to assisted nursing/rehab. His shoulder improving. The staples come out on Thursday and he is acing physical therapy on that. Unfortunately his back is still screwed up. He's not having those spasms as bad as he was, but he is still really uncomfortable sitting and walking. PT gets him up, but he is doing good to walk 30' and back again. Even doing that much just wipes him out. If he is in the bed and doesn't move, he's okay. Clearly that won't work long term though. One way or another he has to come home in two weeks since the insurance will quit paying. There just doesn't seem to be a whole lot they can do for his back. It's just going to have to get better on its own.
I spent all day yesterday with him. He was mentally clear (as opposed to last week when he was loopy.) He's tired of being there and really frustrated. He's also not eating much at all. I think he had 6 bites of lunch and about that of dinner. He's a big guy, so he has some reserve to pull from, but his appetite needs to pick back up before he goes home.

All in all he is better, but he is not where he wants to be. :)

Thanks for asking.

It takes longer to get better the older we get. He needs to remember that and not rush but don't give up either... he is not 20. Make sure he does that PT... even if the insurance stops paying. Pay attention to what they are doing and do it at home... more than they tell you to do it. That is a minimum to do. Make sure he get some protein that will help more than anything. He needs to keep his strength up. Get him some good protein shakes. I think that is one thing that has kept my mother going. We found some great tasting protein powder and she puts it in her coffee in the morning and at least I know she has had a good meal in the morning. She is a snacker during the day, does not like to eat after lunch.
