Matlock, ...so saddened by the loss of your house. Please tell us what you need!

Well...my house burned this evening and the four of us barely made it out! Very sad night here. We all survived but our house is done for. I lost all the chcks from my last hatch and all the fish we had. I tried to go back in for them, but couldn't get by the smoke. We are all in our red cross supplied hotel room trying to figure things out. I know it's mostly just stuff, but it sure hurts.

Matlock I'm glad everyone is ok !!! Don't know what I could do but I'm here if you need me just ask. Thinking about you and yours

Right now it's hard to say what we need. I realized today i was going to have to relocate all my birds. That's the worst, but we will be back home sooner or later. I'm still going to let the boys enter their faves in the fair this friday. But the rest will be gone tomorrow.
Carolj... it was the sfh I lost. I feel so terrible for them. I tried to get to them but couldn't take the smoke. I will buy some more for my spring 2013 hatch.
I meet the insurance adjuster in the morning, so Stephanie and I are going to spend this evening listing our questions and looking for rentals.l

How old are your kids and what size clothes do they wear? I have 2 boys and 3 granddaughters and might could help with some stuff. They are all under 5 so I don't know if I can help. I feel like your kids are a little older.

I hope you find a safe place for your birds. If you need any replacements in the spring let me know. I can hook you up with some eggs.

Where do people buy feed? I don't really like the Purina feed (or the Tractor Supply version). Are there any good feed mills around?

I've been feeding Magill Ranch Cascade, which I get from Azure Standard, but I have to miss the drop-off this month and will need more feed before the next one.

Oh Crap Sam! So sorry for you and yours glad you are all safe but like everyone else if there is anything I can do let me know. Next spring when you get ready to restock birds you just shout out I know we will all be glad to get your chickens going again! Just remember If He takes you to it He will get you thru it!

I will happily donate eggs to the cause too, Matlock.
Are you going to rebuild in the same spot? Instead of getting a rental could you park a FEMA trailer or something on your land while you get the house back in order? I hate for you and your kids to have to give up your birds on top of everything else.
