I am up near Huntsville. Actually if huntsville gets much bigger we will be in Huntsville!
What kind of exotics do you have? I am will always be looking for Southern raised birds!

We have some yard ducks (buff and crested) that I raised from eggs and they are too funny! After being on this site I actually could get some to throw onour pond but I am waiting until I build a house on the property then I can add them and some swans!

My dad and stepmom live there now (my dad owns it) but they have both told me to build so I plan on doing that!

Too funny! Yeah somewhere out there I have a few greenwing teal and wood ducks! They escaped from our pen last year (the old one) and we have no idea how! It needs osme majow work right now! I also have my pintail hen on our pond that escaped as we were putting in her nesting box! She is hanging around and I am determined to catch her. I figured she would have moved on by now but she is still around!

I will have the camera out for sure once we have to catch anything in that big pen! I almost think I would rather deal with cathing them in their then a Broody hen... My dad almost had his eyes clawed out trying to take some baby turkeys and chickens from one this year.. I haven;t every laughed so hard.. a 5lb hen attacking a grown man! It was funny to say the least!

I am so ready for breeding season.. not really becauseI have way to much to do between now and then!! Box building begins next weekend! My dad is headed to AK this weekend for opening season (which gives me a ulcer to think about it) and on his way he has found a mill with cyress lumber! Thanksgiving weekend.. Turkey, Iron Bowl and box building.

hah,
yep, I think over the years, we all have contributed a few unintentionally .
I usually prefer the same method though Destin, broody hens or a REALLY good incubator, and work more on getting second clutches.

I do want to see that video though Kanga when the time comes, LOL

Been there ,done that. It's amazing how quick those little buggers are even as day olds, and dive! Good Lord they cam get it..

What do you guys do for winter? Last year we got 3 feet of snow. I don't want them to get too cold. Right now all they have is a nest box that is on the ground. Oh, and by the way, they are Northen Pintails.

Snow, what is that? we rarely get snow but it gets cold...

Well last weekend it was in the 30s here on Sunday and the wind was blowing so it was cold... They were of course in the water!

We are bulding nesting boxes nest weekend and finding hollow tree stumps and putting them in there so if they want to get out of the weather..
