Basically a big board (some are inflatable). Stand in the centre of it and use a long paddle to move along.
Pretty simple stuff basically. It feels weird at first but u get used to it.

Yep but they're big enough that you can use them as a floating sunbathing platform thingy

We have one for on the lake and I get tired SO fast. Its hard to do.
