You could make an iron farm, there are some where you can trade with the villagers

Yes lol and other mobs kill villagers aswell

Turn mob griefing off in settings. Creepers can explode but they can’t destroy anything. And we could make iron golems for the villagers, and the zombies couldn’t get them through the sandstone wall

Iron golems can spawn in peaceful mode unless you need mobs on for certain things lol
