The Missing Heir RP

Agatha held her hand up. "I know only it be no coincidence Col vanishes when the heir does." The shaman knew Aeron was bright enough to know what she hinted at. "Now, is it we make haste or chat more?" She said walking out the door. Agatha was old but, she still had one good journey left in her bones.

Karok stood but, would only exit if Aeron did. He still wasn't comfortable being too close to the shaman. She was fond of Aeron but, she had no connection to Karok and certainly wouldn't mind obliterating offenders.

Aeron understood and asked no further questions as the walked out of the hut. He was surprised to see that Agatha was coming with them, but also glad, she was the only person that had ever truly been kind to him. Aeron smiled at Karok, trying to reassure the Zurian.

Agatha scurried to the other side of her garden to a small stable. Within was an old mule. Leading it from its barn, Agatha climbed upon the humble beast. "Ye remember Jack my boy?" She asked patting the mule.

Karok followed Aeron only to see a humorous sight. A bony old Zurian woman riding an even bonier mule. He couldn't help but realize that the clearing held remnants of a successful farm. Karok also noticed a huge smoke house full of various beef cuts. Cattle in that number are difficult to come by. "Shaman, may I ask, where is it you acquired so much beef?"

Aeron smiled, "How could I forget," he did remember Jack and he went to pet the mule, then noticed the smoke house. His jaw went slack at the site, "Yea Agatha, whither did ye get all of that?"

Without glancing to the meat, Agatha smirked. "Did ye see my cattle about?". Karok looked around the clearing but, he saw no evidence of cattle.

"Shaman, I see no cows." He asked confused.

Agatha grinned wickedly. She knew it would take only a moment to sink in. "Let us be on the way." She said kicking her mule forward. Nobody could call her humorless.

Karok, once realizing what Agatha had meant, stared wide eyed after her.

Naveen awoke and seeing that Col was not in the small house, got out of bed, went to the door and stepped out into the cold air, "Col, art thee thither? Hello..." She waited, and just as she began to worry, he spoke.
"I am over hither, just getting art steed ready." Col walked over to her from behind the house, leading the white steed behind him. "Wilt ye hold him? I need to do one last thing, my Lady." Naveen took the horse as he entered the house. Col moved to the fire, which was still alight and using a stick, pulled out the small, enchanted stone he had used to light it the night before.

He returned to Naveen, mounted the steed and helped her up, they set off as the sun began to rise

Aeron laughed at the look on Karok's face, as he mounted up, the sun was just reaching the tree tops. "We should hasten, being late would not serve us well. Oh, Aga, everyone in the town believes I am Malcom," Aeron said, Agatha knew about the man, long dead, that he often impersonated, so he knew she'd ack accordingly.

((Night!))

"Yea... Ah, here comes the diplomat now, Malcom forced him to pay in gold for finding the princess, upfront!" The barmaid said in a low voice, inclining her head toward where the diplomat was coming down the stairs, trailed by two guards. The diplomat stomped over to his table while his assistant brought him stacks of parchment, which he started reviewing.

Thea looked up from her now empty bowl of stew. She wiped her mouth and stood. After placing some coin on the table, she walked over to the diplomat's table. "Hello, kind sir." She curtsied even though she wasnt wearing a dress. She smiled sweetly; trying to use her looks to her advantage.

The diplomat scowled at being interrupted, he was in a bad mood from the night before and was dreading seeing Desdemona again. "What is it thee want, girl, quick now!" He snapped, handing a looked-over stack of parchment to his assistant.

Karok clearly knew a joke existed between the two. He was too embarrassed to ask about it, so instead he mounted his shire and followed behind. Aeron was certainly a strange man indeed. A horse thief with character, a Wildfolk who cannot shift, and friend to a crone.

Agatha and the mule slowly made their way down the path to the road. It had been quite some time since she had been in town. She knew all too well that magic was not often accepted by humans. Only the scholars amongst them understood it.
