Y’all have helped me with these colors before. The little pullet always looked black to me, but put her beside a truly black sibling and I start to question things. It’s been said the penciling is a throwback, so did she come from black/blue pairing? The only options are black/black or black/blue.

She's black. I don't see any blue in her. The penciling is interesting. The only variety I know that has that would be Partridge or Birchin.

Best chance to get that pattern to emerge again? Breed her back to father? Then it’s still a long shot and hatching a ton of eggs??

Hmmm...I'd say yes, or the brother. If you don't get any look likes, then breed her to her sons in the hope they carry the gene?
