Looking back on the pics, he really grew into himself. He was a little splotchy (okay a lot) as a baby and then he grew that magnificent mane of his lol it’s really amazing watching that grow and get prettier and prettier as he got older.

I'm seriously debating getting some eggs from Metzer. They have a bunch of breeds now avaliable that I like for ducklings but I'm not sure I can justify 28 bucks for a female duckling....

Their Rouen eggs are a little over 8 bucks a piece, I'd have to buy at least 6, and then roughly 3 would hatch, and I'm not sure I want to risk that many boys.


I really want to hatch some eggs this year though

I think I'm just going to wait for my friend's ducks to lay and get some eggs from her. They're most likely going to be mixes, but I won't have to worry about shipping.

The Magpies and Apples will just have to wait until I can justify risking more males and I might just see if I can add a Rouen female to my order
