Absolutely true.
I was seriously low on Buffs so I hatched several last year. Think there's like 2 or 3 pullets out there and about a dozen cockerels.

My potluck group (which includes at least a pair from yours, but i might keep 2 pairs) I think is at either a 1:1 or a 1.5:1 ratio hens favor

I'm still trying to decide if I just house males separately or add more hens into it. Thankfully for the most part, the male's all seem to be getting along in the giant flock

When I worked on chocolates before I started with a chocolate male over leghorn hens then I switched which sex I used to bred back to leghorns each generation.
This time I'm gonna use both sexes and switch each generation but I'll be working on two different projects at the same time.
One will be solids then maybe expand later. The other will be breeding chocolate duckwings. Probably silver and gold simultaneously as much as I can.
