Somehow 4 little ducklings ended up in my cart today.... does anyone know if hoovers clips the mallards they put in assortments? I can't tell if I got 4 Rouens or if some/all are mallards.
Isn't there something different about the eye stripes between mallards and rouens?
Thought I heard that once

Maybe? I looked online and it looks like mallards aren't a possibility if I get the assorted ducks through tsc, so maybe they don't put mallards in assortments period because of different state laws? There are eyestripe differences though in my 4 I have.

It doesn't really matter to me, I guess, they're just to try and get a hen to get off a nest, but one of the guys getting ducklings ahead of me was insisting that he only wanted the female rouens and didn't want any male rouens or mallards at all, and I hadn't actually considered the chance I'd have mallards before I watched his griping

I had mallards awhile back.
Bought like 8 ducklings from a guy. All turned out to be females then I had a hell of a time finding any true mallards anywhere. Just wanted one male. Saw an ad on CL for one male "wild type" mallard. I went and grabbed him up.
Brought him home, showed him the girls. They were all pretty much grown by then as was he. I put him down and he immediately hopped into the air and fly so far off I could barely see him.
I thought oh damn he's gone but he made a huge loop and came back and landed a few feet from where he took off from. That was crazy and in a couple years I had mallards flying all over the place.
