Really. I noticed one of my hens hanging out by herself, just sitting around in the corner of the run. Got her out, checked for a hung up egg (gross, by the way) and didn’t feel anything. I got on and ask what might be wrong and someone said to put her in a salt bath. I did. Dried her off good. I was gonna put her in the brooder to isolate from the rest and as I was putting her in she flapped real hard like trying to get away and died on the spot. Prolly had nothing to do with the salt bath but that’s why I put a chicken in water.Really?
Just like the ones who think chickens can swim and put them in the pool for a photo shoot
To be fair, my little oegb hens were small enough that they floated for a few minutes before they got too wet (we had to wash birds in 4H for show, so they were very closely watched while in the water)Do people actually do this?![]()
