The Moonshiner's Leghorns

No truck.
Dude was messaging me and I was trying to set up a place and time to check it out. He wanted to take and send a few pics to show some damage that he conveniently left out of the pics in the ad.
I was cool with that but didn't receive any pics. When I went to message him to see what was up his ad was gone. Seems he was stringing me along while he had somebody else coming to look at it. It is what it is but he could at least have messaged me telling me he sold it instead of me figuring it out on my own.
Oh well tomorrow will be the next day in my adventure. Different guy and an SUV. I'm not holding my breath but we'll see how it goes.
I only buy vehicles I can afford outright so nothing as expensive as a kidney I'd imagine.
I hate when people that say they want the chicken you put up for sale and give you a time they will be there but then don't show up. Just message me you don't want the bird anymore. Its not going to hurt my feelings if you don't want it anymore. Seriously communication is key!

I'm sorry that happened and you didn't get the truck. The older I get, the less faith in most human beings I have. Most people are so cruel and crooked, and they have no shame in the horrible things they do to others. Common courtesy and decency are very rare these days, and long gone are the days when you could take someone at their word.

We only buy vehicles we can afford also, always used and never brand-spanking new. We don't have the extra cash to buy another truck right now so we are saving.

Oh tell me about it! I could match you story for story on how horrible people are. I had a hen turkey a few months ago a guy said he had to have, but he didn't have the cash at the moment but he needed her to put with a particular tom. He asked me to hold the hen for several days until Friday when he got paid from work and told me the time and place he could meet. The day came to meet the man, and I texted to make sure we were still meeting and he ghosted me. He wouldn't even read my messages. After I had already told several other people the bird was sale pending. Never again.

And then I had a boy wanting a particular group of turkeys I was selling to thin out last fall. We agreed on a price and he told me a day and time he would come to pick them up. On the drive to come to pick up the turkeys he told me he only made X amount of dollars and could only pay X amount of dollars, which was like $75 less than the price we agreed on (which mind you was already a very cheap price on the birds.) I told him no and they were no longer for sale. Then he miraculously came up with the full amount and said he would take them. I told him no, they are no longer for sale. We ate like 2 of the toms in the group, and I would honestly rather eat them from now on as opposed to dealing with selling to people like that.

Anyone notice our profile pictures are rotating? Or is it just mine? Or is it me? I thought I was having a stroke.

I used to sale kune kune piglets and got that constantly. I usually don't get upset over much. Not worth it so I wouldn't say it pissed me off or anything but ya after making sure I was home for that hour or two window for a no show and no courtesy message was disappointing. I'd never do that to somebody.

With the vehicle search I'm pretty much used to how people are nowadays so unfortunately I've come to expect it. That's a real shame isn't it?
I had fun with the guy today. I had to explain to him that I work weekends and I have my son in the evenings so to go look at a vehicle it would have to be one of three days during the week and as early as possible because if I bought it I would then have to go get somebody to help me get both vehicles home. Get both vehicles home in time to go pick my kid up at school.
Yeah that's a pain in the ass for someone to work with but it is what it is and I'm up front about it and bring it up right off the bat. Today was not a day off for me but tomorrow is. He kept wanting me to come and look at it today and I kept telling him I couldn't I was at work.
He tried to tell me he was just wanting to make sure I was a serious buyer and assure me he was a serious seller. When I told him I just couldn't do anything today he sent me pictures of two other people that had messaged him about the vehicle. Yeah I get it other people may be interested and if he sells it today he sells it today. Won't be the first time that's happened.
He tried to put a little pressure on me and when I said something he went back to telling me he was just trying to see if I was a serious buyer and showed me the next message one guy had sent him. I'm actually carrying around a stack of $100 bills so I don't miss out on something for a lack of cash in hand.
We are a tad over an hour away from each other. I messaged him and told him if he was a serious or is he claimed he could always bring the car to me at my work and I'd clock out and check it out and then we could take it for a test run and if he was honest about what he had said about it I'd buy it on the spot. I fanned the money out on a table of work and took a picture of it and sent it to him saying yes I'm a serious buyer now how serious are you of a seller?
He thought about it but then backed out when he Googled and found out how far away I was. We talked a few more times throughout the day and he was eager to make sure I was going to come tomorrow and check it out. I told him I would but I was going to wait till late this evening and message him to make sure he didn't sell it today before I got too excited and set a time in stone to when I would be there. It might not work out but at least I had fun playing along today.

I guess if you can't beat em, have fun with them at least. lol I hope it ends up working out and you get the SUV. My husband's own dad sold a truck out from under him once, so nothing surprises me when it comes to people anymore.

Ya I once had a truck sold out from under me not once but twice by to good friends. Little 4X4 that I loved. Trans went out and I couldn't afford to fix it. I buddy of mine wanted it cause his dad could replace the trans.
I ended selling it to him cheap on the condition if he did get it running and ever decided to sell it to give me the first chance to buy it.
He ended up selling it without even telling me to another friend. I plead to him the same deal. Just let me have a chance to buy it. He later sold it to someone that wanted to take it to Texas and use it for a ranch truck. Some friends I had, lol
