The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Ya I once had a truck sold out from under me not once but twice by to good friends. Little 4X4 that I loved. Trans went out and I couldn't afford to fix it. I buddy of mine wanted it cause his dad could replace the trans.
I ended selling it to him cheap on the condition if he did get it running and ever decided to sell it to give me the first chance to buy it.
He ended up selling it without even telling me to another friend. I plead to him the same deal. Just let me have a chance to buy it. He later sold it to someone that wanted to take it to Texas and use it for a ranch truck. Some friends I had, lol
Yeah with "friends" like that, who needs enemies? My husband's dad has another truck right now that just sits for the most part and no one drives because they "can't afford to drive it." It's a V8 and they say its a gas hog. So we offered to buy it, and "no" they "might need it." They would rather it sit and go to ruin. That is the story of our life dealing with family.

Ya see, I don't even know what I want to buy.
I have a full size V8 truck that I drive now. Love my truck, need a truck. I've had it a while and it's getting some scuffs and scrapes and miles.
Problem is it's 2WD. I'm on gravel in the boonies. I average missing almost 1 day of work per year. I missed 4 days this winter because of snow and cold. Bad winter this year.
Need a 4WD but will keep my truck regardless. A back up vehicle can't be a bad thing.
Anyways full size 4X4 trucks are pricey compared to 4X4 suv. Decisions, decisions if I buy another truck well then I just have two trucks. I would like the new one to be a better shape than the one I have now. That would mean I would want to drive the new one all the time. Love my truck after all it's done for me I'd hate to just let it mostly set. I could get an SUV because it would be something different and I thought hey it would be cheaper and I could get something smaller that would save on gas. That would be a bonus and I could still drive my truck a lot because I need my truck. I haul crap.
But then again if I get an SUV and then something happens to my truck how would I haul stuff? Then I need another truck.
How to make absolutely no sense the SUV I'm going to look at tomorrow has a bigger V8 in it than my truck does. I don't think my having better gas mileage plan will be in effect. That's Moony for you.

I used to sale kune kune piglets and got that constantly. I usually don't get upset over much. Not worth it so I wouldn't say it pissed me off or anything but ya after making sure I was home for that hour or two window for a no show and no courtesy message was disappointing. I'd never do that to somebody.

With the vehicle search I'm pretty much used to how people are nowadays so unfortunately I've come to expect it. That's a real shame isn't it?
I had fun with the guy today. I had to explain to him that I work weekends and I have my son in the evenings so to go look at a vehicle it would have to be one of three days during the week and as early as possible because if I bought it I would then have to go get somebody to help me get both vehicles home. Get both vehicles home in time to go pick my kid up at school.
Yeah that's a pain in the ass for someone to work with but it is what it is and I'm up front about it and bring it up right off the bat. Today was not a day off for me but tomorrow is. He kept wanting me to come and look at it today and I kept telling him I couldn't I was at work.
He tried to tell me he was just wanting to make sure I was a serious buyer and assure me he was a serious seller. When I told him I just couldn't do anything today he sent me pictures of two other people that had messaged him about the vehicle. Yeah I get it other people may be interested and if he sells it today he sells it today. Won't be the first time that's happened.
He tried to put a little pressure on me and when I said something he went back to telling me he was just trying to see if I was a serious buyer and showed me the next message one guy had sent him. I'm actually carrying around a stack of $100 bills so I don't miss out on something for a lack of cash in hand.
We are a tad over an hour away from each other. I messaged him and told him if he was a serious or is he claimed he could always bring the car to me at my work and I'd clock out and check it out and then we could take it for a test run and if he was honest about what he had said about it I'd buy it on the spot. I fanned the money out on a table of work and took a picture of it and sent it to him saying yes I'm a serious buyer now how serious are you of a seller?
He thought about it but then backed out when he Googled and found out how far away I was. We talked a few more times throughout the day and he was eager to make sure I was going to come tomorrow and check it out. I told him I would but I was going to wait till late this evening and message him to make sure he didn't sell it today before I got too excited and set a time in stone to when I would be there. It might not work out but at least I had fun playing along today.

We bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee a few years ago because honestly it is what I wanted. But I regret not getting another full-sized truck instead. My husband has a smaller work truck, but it is old and getting worn out honestly. He drives a 4-runner as his daily driver and it's a stout little vehicle, old and definitely not new but he can drive it anywhere in any weather easy. We need another full-size truck, but we have to wait until we can afford it. We are in the same position you would find yourself in if you bought an SUV and something happened to your truck. Unless you get a tow package installed on the SUV and tow a trailer, which is an option. My Grand Cherokee is amazing in the snow, and I never have to miss work because of weather so that is a plus. So maybe if you get the SUV, you could drive the truck some in nicer weather and drive the SUV more when it is cold. It is always good to have more than one vehicle so you have a spare.

What do you do with them? Eat them? Or are they pets like those little pot bellied micro pigs?
They say they're one of the tastiest pigs.
Some just have them for pets too though.
They're a small pasture pig so they were popular with small homesteaders for a while. Might still be but I don't keep track anymore.

Wow I had never heard of them. People must not have any around where I live or I would have seen ads or some mention of them at some point. They are cute little things. 🥰

It may be cute now but it'll turn all fat and wrinkly one day and I'm not a fan of the snub noses.
I've never really seen a pig I thought was cute but at least Durocs are aesthetically pleasing.
It may be oxymoronic, IDK but I'm more of a fan of the lean pigs.

My favorite pig is the ones you turn into bacon. 🐷 🥓
