The Moonshiner's Leghorns

MaticoopX 30 is a good hatcher. I still line it with shelf liner. Washing is kinda a problem but not as bad others.

Still want a cabinet incubator and hatcher.
I love my Sportsman. We wore the old one out and the wooden bottom rotted out, so we got a newer model a few years ago. Best money ever spent on an incubator. I will eventually get a second one dedicated as a hatcher.

Well you were missed during your chicken depression! I was getting ready to ask where you were. I am so sorry the coon ate your rooster. Stupid coons. Such is my life also. Everytime I make a plan, life throws me a curveball, especially chicken plans. That is why I like having so many projects, so if one fails (or more) then maybe I at least have one that might work out.
That was last years disaster. I've been gone from thread because updates stopped. I'm back untill that happens again.

Those are my main worries. Makes me not want to keep any of them. A hand full are thriving, like about 4 or 5.
That was my problem with the reds. Nothing worse then having a good number of chicks but then only have 2 or 3 by the time they reached maturity.

The Brown Leghorn hen with the Silver Ginger rooster finally laid an egg today after about a week hiatus. She doesn't care for him much and she stays on the roost a lot to keep away from him. He runs her off the roost to breed her so he is getting the job done. Game roosters don't take no for an answer, actually most roosters don't. 😬

It is only a temporary mating though, and she will get over it once she gets used to him. Game roosters are spunky and high energy. He gets on her nerves I guess.

Well I will tag you once in a while when you go radio silent. :D

Also, are you a lady or a dude? I would like to know whether to say "where is she at?" or "where is he at?" because its hard to tell with the ambiguous screen names and pics. lol

Ya I need buffs. I have a quad and one is a pullet. Guess which one is the only one laying? Hopefully there's fertility there.
