I have a couple of smaller coops that are off the ground so would be able to keep them reasonably cleanThose things would look like a dirty mop at my house unless you kept them completely indoors, with as much rain as we have had in Kentucky. Too much mud here for heavily feather-legged breeds. They are way too boujee for me.![]()
She was still a pullet. Not that old but old enough to sneak off and hatch those. I think I've only had 2 ever set the full 21 days.Lovely!! Very striking looking variety! Look at the mama Leghorn!! I love it.![]()

Yes it has pretty much rained every day or every other day for weeks, punctuated by periods of sun and high humidity. The yard has time to dry out a bit, then it rains again. My chickens are going to have evolve to have gills and webbed feet at this point.Still getting rain? We've had a couple real storm days and then some with a hour or three of steady rain. I don't think we've had a completely dry day in the last 8.
I wanted to run my extension cord to see just how far in the garage I could get it but it's been raining since I've been home.
That's awesome! We used to have a commercial-type White Leghorn hen who would go broody. They are supposed to be super non-broody, but she would go broody a couple of times a year. We never let her sit to see if she would sit tight enough to hatch any. She is the only one we ever had that would go broody. She was still a pullet. I have some call ducks. Their pen gets wet when we have blowing rain. Even they're complaining at this point.Yes it has pretty much rained every day or every other day for weeks, punctuated by periods of sun and high humidity. I usually have 1 or 2 a year but when I've let them usually before a week is up they're like screw this I'm to ADD to sit still any longer. That's awesome!
