We are technically talking about chickens. Protecting your chickens is chickening 101.When are we going to get back to talking about Leghorns?
But I will cease and desist. Gotta go to work.

That worked out perfectly!Ya I had the one a few weeks, I don't remember but in that time he started to get matted and picked up every bur on the property.
I had no doodle experience and while combating the burs I discovered just how much maintenance he was gonna be. I didn't have anything to trim him with I thought it was best to go the professional route at least that time. Yeah they wanted $100 and told me how often he would need to be groomed in the future.
I wasn't too happy about it and explain to the groomer how he was dumped by my house. She asked if I was looking for a home for him and at about that time I surely was. Well I didn't have to pay for grooming that day and he got to go home and live with the groomer.
Oh it’s not the groomer’s fault. It’s just I have a stupid looking dog once you get the floof off.If someone is going to screw my dog's haircut up, it's gonna be me. And I sure ain't paying someone to do it. lol
I'm sorry your dog was shot! That's so sad after having him so longEdit: Sorry I thought it was the neighbor's dog trying to kill the brother's chickens.
If it was the neighbor's dog trying to kill the brother's chickens, then yes you can, at least in Kentucky you can, shoot a dog for coming onto your property and killing your animals. My dog was shot just down the road about 10 years ago, lawfully. One of our Pyrenees got out and played with a goat until it died. The man shot my dog on his property. There was nothing I could do about it, as it is the law. The dog was about 9 years old, and I was there when he was born. I helped his mother as she delivered the litter, and we had him ever since. The law is the law.

I feel you. I picked up a side hustle so I've been working 2 jobs like a crazy person, while finishing up my last term in school. And at some point we have got to butcher some birds.Idk when I'll get to taking pics. I'm scrambling. I work 3 out of the next 4 days and by that 4th day it'll be mid 20s overnight and a high of 40°.
Plenty on my to do list still too, so.....

Yes it was really hard. He was a good boy. He just had never been exposed to goats before.I'm sorry your dog was shot! That's so sad after having him so long

Is he part Pekinese? Those are the ugliest dogs. lol. No offense to anyone who has a Pekinese.Oh it’s not the groomer’s fault. It’s just I have a stupid looking dog once you get the floof off.

I bet he is a very cute Doodle! I love their little poofy heads and sweet faces. A friend of mine's dog just had a litter of "Oopsie-Doodles!" Her Basset Hound got pregnant by her Poodle. If I didn't already have a Doodle I would get one.Oh it’s not the groomer’s fault. It’s just I have a stupid looking dog once you get the floof off.
