100lbs lasts me 5-7 days. I think having so many broodies eating less has cut down a little of the feed consumption, but they are finally slacking off, and many chicks growing out, so consumption is going to go up until I can get rid of some birds.

Oh I have no idea right now.
I was thinning down all winter but now I have quite a few that I've hatched since spring.
I'd estimate 350 - 375? That load was just layer pellets. Total chicken feed I go through 100lbs plus a little a day.
Haha I only have three chickens and it takes me 2 months to go through 50 lbs. I live in a neighborhood though. But once I get older I will have a heck of a lot of chickensOh I have no idea right now.

Sounds about right. I'm VERY cockerel heavy right now. out of 18 LF Cochins I got in Feb, 11 of them are Cockerels. Of 11 Dark Cornish I have out in the field, 7 of them are male. I'm hoping more of the littles I have growing out are female. At least I'll be spoiled for choice on the breeding males.100lbs lasts me 5-7 days. My mom's the same way. She makes me pay everything myself.I pay for everything though. My parents don't pay for it because their my chickens and I sell their eggs
Its not necessarily the fact that she wants me to pay for everything myself. We don't have a lot of money actually. I don't want her to feel like she has to help me pay for it. Plus I make 5 dollars a dozen on eggs. She feels bad about not having a lot of money and I don't want her to stress about having to worry about paying for chickens. My mom's the same way. Yeah I really don't mind paying everything for my chickensI normally don't pay for the food cause my flocks supply the family with eggs. I do the constructions of the buildings out of my pocket...but I also have a shipping job and sell my birds for a pretty penny.
