My sons ameraucanas are very docile and gentle also. It takes the roosters a good while longer than other breeds to develop the confidence to crow and try to be dominant over the older hens. His ameraucana rooster that died a few months ago, Crow, was very respectful and gentle to the hens. He definitely was not a run 'em down like a tyrant kind of rooster like the Leghorns and Games. Crow's son still hasn't started crowing and is very sweet. lolThank you, that's really good to know. The two boys are VERY respectful (even a bit fearful?) of the OG hens, some of whom are still molting and very crabby, and are not doing any juvenile shenanigans toward their sisters yet. I'll be patient and won't worry.
