The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Thank you, that's really good to know. The two boys are VERY respectful (even a bit fearful?) of the OG hens, some of whom are still molting and very crabby, and are not doing any juvenile shenanigans toward their sisters yet. I'll be patient and won't worry.
My sons ameraucanas are very docile and gentle also. It takes the roosters a good while longer than other breeds to develop the confidence to crow and try to be dominant over the older hens. His ameraucana rooster that died a few months ago, Crow, was very respectful and gentle to the hens. He definitely was not a run 'em down like a tyrant kind of rooster like the Leghorns and Games. Crow's son still hasn't started crowing and is very sweet. lol

Thank you for this.

I just lost a chick. One of the little White Leghorns.:hit

She passed away right in my hands. I was studying and all of a sudden I heard a loud distressing chirping coming from my son's room (where their brooder is). I jumped up and when I looked into the brooder the chick was kind of doing the little flop of death. I picked her up and tried to look in her mouth to see if maybe she was choking or if there was something I could do. She stopped moving and wasn't breathing, no little heartbeat. Nothing. I don't know what happened, but I am so sad. She was perfectly fine like 20 minutes ago when I was in the room hanging out with them. Keeping these little rascals in the house so long makes me get super attached to them and they are so sweet. They love to run to my hand and jump into my hand. They love snuggles and enjoy interacting with me. Grrr I hate getting attached to chicks. I don't know if maybe she had her head in the feeder and another chick jumped on her, and her neck got broken? That is the only thing I can think of that could cause such an instant death without any obvious signs of trauma. She didn't have a mark on her and was perfectly healthy. 😭

My Easter hatch silver Ameraucanas are just now figuring out they are boys. Not getting many eggs from anyone right now.
The only eggs we are getting right now are mainly from the OG White Leghorn hens and the young White Leghorn pullets. They are top tier layers and will lay when nothing else will. Not much else has laid the past few days besides them.

Oh my! So sorry! :hugs

Ya I don't know. I did like the stub legs but I really liked the tails and humongous combs.
The tails and humongous combs are so cute. It's always weird how they kind of lean down though. I prefer when they lean the other way... Upright like the d'Anvers
