The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Where you able to determine the mode of inheritance of his lighter color? Possibly diluter gene/genes, or lack of melanizing gene/genes?
I would say random breeding encounter and one could take it from there, in Australia there are two lines of Barred Rocks, the Dark Barred Rocks and the Light Barred Rocks, all originated from the same line of American Plymouth Rocks

No I actually don't know exactly why.
Its not because of another gene or lack of any genes I would say since I've bred him with cuckoo as well as with other patterns and haven't found anything from any of his offspring that would point to a genetic difference.
Honestly I have so many projects to keep track of and so many future planned projects that I think about that worrying or figuring it out just isn't a priority for me.

I have read about and seen pics of the Dark and Light barred, thanks for that link also.

Thanks for the reply. I have only a few projects, so I can only imagine the difficulty of tracking all the projects you have, which is understandable that you wouldn't be going down possible genetic "bunny trails". I am enjoying seeing all the different varieties of leghorns you have.
