The Moonshiner's Leghorns

That sounds interesting, but messy pattern-wise. Do you have any pictures or illustrations of what they would look like when the pattern is established?

How do you separate them? I'm going to have to start doing that real soon with all the mess my breeding pens are right now.
I hatch in hovabators so I just section it off in smaller areas.
I used to use 1/2 X 1 welded wire but now I cut up box fan grilles. The plastic is easier to clean and we throw away several fans a year at work.
I've done different configurations but whatever I do I just zip tie them together and to the plastic grid floor.
Here's an older one that kinda got smashed and out of shape put you'll get the idea. Nothing fancy and its five sections.

I'm still recovering from that cold and snow crap. So much work to do and it's only been warm for a week here. Still a lot of mud.
Hard to get motivated until it gets at least in the 60s for extended periods.
Load your birds up in an Extra Large Uhaul.
Google Redlands,FL. Directions...
Let me know when you're 12 hrs away so I can slap a couple of briskets on the pit and they'll be ready when you get here and you can run me through your inventory before you leave them with me. Your roosters won't have to deal with the cold again... those poor things.

An update and a dilemma.
So i fired up my Pepsi incubator and set 41 eggs a few days ago.
Today when I went to check on it I quickly noticed the thermometers were all reading 80°.
The heating element had burned out. I bought two to begin with so I pulled the dead one and replaced it. Now the dilemma. What to do?
Keep running it as is and hope failures aren't common and frequent or look into swapping for a different type? Or?
If I decide to go a different route that's researching (which I hate) to find a different option and then also coming up with mounting ideas and follow through all while eggs are in progress.
It wouldn't be a big deal to order some back ups of what I have.but the thought of having this happen again let alone every now and again isn't thrilling.
This is what I'm using. They're 250 watts and easily run it to temp without being on constantly. They're also inexpensive. Bonus.

A thought I had was to install two. Then if one fails the other should still function and easily keep it going. If I notice one not working (which wouldn't be hard as you can see they glow when on) I could replace it when necessary.
Thoughts? Ideas?

Outsource the researching to Overo....

If you had 2 elements in there would they be doing half the work each or will 1 only kick in when the other doesn't work or has died?
