Shapewise I think they are rather basic: what can compete with a small body and well spread tail? (IMO both Leghorns and d'Anvers fall in this category) But they do have a lovely color.I may have to get a few Welsummer hens when my old Marans hens all die off. I’ve never owned any but I’ve always liked the way they look.

Buck Fifty is a blue band (zip tie). They are from two separate groups/pens, and the breeder had the eggs labeled. One group is banded blue, the other is banded red. I will wing band them and record all their info in my binder.Is the zip tied baby Buck Fifty?
That would be a good name for a Buckeye.
I like the look of a big wild type rooster. I think that is why I like Brown Leghorns so much.
