The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I think it's wise to get all of that done now instead of waiting until spring. It's alot of work, but you will be able to rest easier this winter knowing that they are done.

I'm waiting for Thanksgiving and turkey thighs.
I like to procrastinate but then again I'm usually hatching into November so by the time I'm done I'm a little more worn out and it's usually colder so that's a good excuse.
I know it's wise because every spring as I'm trying to clean stuff to use and scraping out brooders that I never cleaned from the year before I always tell myself this would have been so much easier if I took care of it at the end of chick season.

Well, this way you are already ahead of the spring chick and supplies mad rush.

How do youens market your chicks? How do you start to build up a clientele? Obviously I won't have chicks to sell for a while but ... i want to learn from the best.
Usually when I had my other breeds, I would tell the members here in my states thread when I had extras that I would sell.

This year, I decided to go with leghorns instead, because they are a less heavy breed, and are supposed to be better on egg laying.

My husband sent me this while I was at work last night. I didn’t get time at work to post it here so I am posting it in between shifts before work again tonight. One of my incomplete BTR pullets finally laid! It is the one in with the Buff cockerel. Unfortunately I don’t think he is breeding her yet but at least one of the pullets has finally laid! 😁

Thank you!

Don't worry, he'll get to her soon enough. ;)
