The Moonshiner's Leghorns

When I first moved here the house came with a large stand up one that had to be defrosted. Every now and again I'd let the food run out then drag it out the door onto the concrete and let it set for a few days then drag it back in and wait for the next time. Yeah never again.
Well that's doing it the hard way. I just go at with a hair dryer (or two actually, bc my GC always helps) and we're done in about 10 minutes. Then we use a broom and dustpan to scoop out the ice from the bottom, and a mop or towel to get the water out and bam! All done. Still don't wanna do it any more though.

Hair dryers are good for that. It helps get it done faster.

That sounds like me.
BTW on yours, ya that's too far for me to travel. I appreciate the offer and if I didn't have a job and a kid and had I truck I trusted more I'd come and get it. Probably hang out and do some needed chores for you too.

Well bummer. Woulda been fun. I really wanted to see how much you resemble Tom Selleck. Dangit, I mean Sam Elliot. :lau

Great Cousin?
Lol. No, GirlChild. My 24-yo granddaughter that still lives with us.

As far as metal detectors I have no idea and no clue about them.
I may have him a side hustle with it though. Like just last week my mother text me and wanted to know if I had one or knew anybody that did. She had lost her car key she believed between the car and the front porch. Yeah in the grass. Her and my brother looked for like an hour and then I guess my brother racked around the grass for a bit too with no luck.
She said last time she lost her key that cost her almost $300 for a new one. I lost my truck key once but it wasn't as fancy of a key. Had to have someone come to the house. I think I spent $200 for two keys and to have them programmed.
Maybe he could make some cash finding lost keys or wedding rings and such.
That's his idea. Going to parks and stuff and finding lost jewelry and things like that. He is pretty excited about it! He loves finding treasures and wants to try to sell vintage and antique bottles he has found on Ebay. He has found tons of antique glass medicine bottles and stuff digging around on our property. And metal detectors are more affordable than they use to be. As long as it keeps him outdoors and off screens, I'm all for it. lol

Oh, I hadn't thought of deer season. I might put off my search for a couple months. I bet they do go faster than ever and people will probably value them more for a bit.
Oh yea we value our venison for sure, and the appliances that keeps it frozen. One time, I thought my husband was going to re-home our Doodle to doggie heaven for unplugging the deep freezer with his most recently killed buck in there. I went into the room and didn't hear the hum of the deep freeze and my heart nearly stopped. Luckily it hadn't been unplugged for very long and the meat was all still frozen, so the dog was redeemed. I had to barricade the outlet to keep the Doodle from unplugging it again.

Dogs can cost you so much money in sooooooo many different ways. 🙄

That would be a nightmare to pull all that meat out to defrost a freezer. I definitely want a newer one for sure.

For sure, I can't tell you how much stuff my Doodle has chewed up and eaten. I don't know how he hasn't perished by now. I love my dog, but never again. He is the smartest stupid dog I have ever had. He will learn a new trick or command in 5 minutes without a treat, but will chew up anything he can get his teeth on still and he is 3 years old.
