The Moonshiner's Leghorns

We normally are not a fan of white chickens, but the performance of the white leghorns certainly makes us make an exception. They out-lay any other bird we have.
I'm usually not a fan of white birds either. Probably hard to believe but I'm not even really a fan of white leghorns.
Not a fan of buff birds either but buff leghorns are one of my favorite varieties.

Every white bird I've had here has been coyote bait. ☹️ We tried brown Leghorns but they were absolutely feral. We got them with some EE as day-olds and even at that early age, the difference was apparent. They laid well, but I felt that they were miserable having to tolerate the presence of humans, so never got any more. They just panicked whenever they saw us, it was sad.

A chicken addiction.
We be chickaholics. Hatchaholics too, some of youens. I probably will be, some day. only i'll be raising Ams. Can I still come hang out here in LegHorn Land? You guys are fun. And funny.

I sure do like the look of that Buff rooster. I gotta go to bed. My typos are awful! Good night, y'all. :frow
You're always welcome, you're good people.
And you're not even the only Ameraucana person here. My thread wasn't ever really about leghorns. They just happen to be my breed of choice.
I started it to show what can be accomplished with trying to breed for different varieties. To show others that if I can do it they probably can too.
To show my birds but maybe encourage others to try projects.

Thanks, Moonster. Well then. I have black Ameraucanas. Six pullets, 3 cockerels. Gonna get more this spring. Not sure what I can get in April or so. Probably BBS. It won't be a project, just a learning adventure. It is BBS, right? Black, Blue, Speckled? I'll also get some Doms so I can have some sex-linked green layers. I guess that's a project. Maybe?

Careful, that's how you end up with multiple breeds to work on! That's how I ended up with the Malines. I wanted a couple barred hens for sex links and fell in love with the breed.

That's a pretty breed. That's not a single comb though, what do you call that?
