The Moonshiner's Leghorns

new saw. I'm easy like that.
Was it a worm drive? I slways liked the worm drive because I could see the blade so I could see what I was cutting. I'm right handed. But it's been a few years since I've done sny carpentry.

probably the only woman in America who doesn't enjoy shopping in stores.
No you are not. I send my GC to do most of my shopping now and I shouldn't. She says she's ben stalked, shadowed, followed, harassed and hit on in WM. Now that I'm back on my feet I'm going to start going with her.

Mines getting deep fried.
Be careful!

I was stalked and harassed a few years ago. True story. I feared for my safety for real. I actually met with a cop to discuss how I could go about tracking the person and pressing charges. I made a report so there would be proof I feared for my safety. He told me to carry heat and if someone tried to get into my vehicle to unload the clip on him. Self-defense. Yes sir! 💯

PS We always pack heat. lol

It built up over the course of a few months and was escalating. Non-stop phone calls and text, screen shots from my facebook, pictures of my vehicle. He knew where I worked. I tried to block the number but he was calling and texting from an app that regenerated new numbers, so it couldn't be traced. He was very explicit and vulgar, and it really traumatized me. I finally had all I could take and had my number changed. I grieve my old number. I had the same number since I was 18. After that it stopped, thank God.

Maybe she should.

I like deep fried turkey, but since we only do one a year, I season with lots of butter and seasoning and roast it in a turkey bag in the oven. The bag cuts way down on cooking time.

If we cooked more turkeys a year or entertained a lot of people for Thanksgiving, I might consider investing in a turkey frier, but since that is a cause of a lot of fires and grease burns, I have always been afraid to cook one that way at home. I've never seen a countertop one. That's pretty nifty.
I used to only cook turkey breasts and never used the bags. Just didn't really know about them. Few years ago I talked to a guy that has a couple horses here (work) He's a manly man, head of household, it's my job to cook the turkey kind of guy. Apparently he takes it way serious. He mentioned the bags and I mentioned I'd never used them. He didn't say much about it and soon left. About 45 minutes later he showed back up and handed me a 2 pack of them. He actually left, went to the store bought them then brought them to me so I'd try them. Super cool of him. He's good people. Of course after that I had to try it. Best decision ever. They work so well and the turkey wasn't as dry as usual. I used them ever since.

I've seen some crazy deep frying before. Definitely know why they always say do it completely outdoors. I saw the tabletop one at home depot of all places. I liked it and liked the idea. I deep fry a lot with a regular deep fryer. I didn't get one because it was over $100. That was about the time I first discovered Marketplace. Just for the hell of it I looked for one on there. It wasn't too much before Thanksgiving and there was actually a few. I found one that still look new and had the box and everything said it had only been used once. I don't remember what they were asking but I got them down to $40 so I went and bought it. Was one of the very first things I ever bought off Marketplace. I have kind of like an island. It's attached to one wall but it sticks out in the middle of the kitchen. I make sure it's all cleaned off and set it in the center of that and then watch it like a hawk.
The thing I don't like about it is it takes like a 30 gallon drum of oil to fill it. The oil cost as much as the turkey so last year I cooked the Thanksgiving turkey then bought a couple when they were on sale after Thanksgiving and had one for Christmas and another one in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I never ate a lot of turkey either but I tried to get my money's worth out of the oil cost. I have no idea how long oil is good just setting in one but I'll probably end up cooking two or three more in it this year.

We usually only get feedback if we do something wrong. Like "don't do that" kinda thing. Usually after someone does something stupid and/or gets themselves fired, we get a pep-talk to not do what they did. We don't get much positive feedback. I like nightshift because we fly under the radar a lot. lol
I like staying under the radar too. When I started here my boss said he was looking for somebody that was self-motivated. Could come in and do the work without someone standing over their shoulder. I loved that idea. He needed someone that didn't miss a lot of days. Perfect I can't afford to miss days.
He really wanted the place to run with as little involvement from him as possible.
I really wanted as little involvement from a boss as possible so it's worked out well.
Things have changed and we have too many employees and drama or issues but my days and shifts are still like the old days mostly. That's why he likes me. He has no worries on my days and the other days and shifts let him see how good he has it with me.

Not a worm drive. I've only had one of those ever. It was one of the smaller ones. Like 5 1/2" blade (?) And cordless. I liked how it seemed to have a better balance. Like when you get to the end of a plywood cut the saw didn't try to tip to the one side and ya it seemed you were more behind it then on top of it.
Maybe a full size one would be different because of weight but I really should give one a try sometime. I've seen people rip through cuts one handed with them often so....
