One more chick hatched while I was asleep. Another Crele project chick. So 22/24 eggs that developed hatched. Not bad at all. lol

If my Buff pullet starts laying, and as long as the Buff x incomplete BTR and Crele pen is laying I may keep setting them. I have only gotten 3 eggs over the past week and a half to set. This cold weather has caused them to put the brakes on egg laying for sure. Hopefully they pick up soon!

Enabling another hatch-a-holic, are you?

It doesn’t take much to enable me. I am deep in the throes of my hatching addiction. lol And it never gets any better because I have been hatching and raising chicks for nearly 2 decades.

I know what you mean about it being an addiction. You miss it when you don't have those tiny newly hatched to care for.

You guys, one of my cockerels is crowing. I think it's Moon Shadow. I had to put a power strip in the hen house so I could plug in my baby monitor, and he started greeting the morning at 4:30 a.m. today. I love it! At first it woke me up but then it lulled me back to sleep. Is there something wrong with me? Here he is earlier today. I think I'm in love!
