The Moonshiner's Leghorns

You guys, one of my cockerels is crowing. I think it's Moon Shadow. I had to put a power strip in the hen house so I could plug in my baby monitor, and he started greeting the morning at 4:30 a.m. today. I love it! At first it woke me up but then it lulled me back to sleep. Is there something wrong with me? Here he is earlier today. I think I'm in love!

We always have a chorus of crowing by dozens of roosters every morning and all day for that matter. Nothing wrong with enjoying the sound. I heard an old timer once say that roosters and the birds wake up every morning with songs of praise for their creator, and I thought that was beautifully said. Congrats on your new crower!! ❤️

No I find it very reassuring for some reason. My new rooster crows almost never and I miss it. Maybe it’s his age—he might still be a cockerel but I would still expect more crowing by now. I’m sure lots of people would be tickled pink.

He is the new kid in town, give him time to build up his confidence and get used to the place. Especially if he is young.

Cockerels are intimidated by older and dominant hens. lol
This morning my boy did not begin his morning songs until 5:30 and I was a little worried about him. But it's very heavily overcast, maybe he did not receive signals of daylight as early as he did yesterday.
