Got three dark brown Leghorns yesterday Pictures later when they get released from their integration setup. They are not pleased with me at the moment. But they are laying so I’m hopeful the rooster will take a liking to them and I can set some of their eggs under a broody to get more Leghorns cause apparently they’re the popcorn of chickens…you need more of them than potato chips

They are not but they are my first dark brown ones. I had light brown ones years ago and gave them to my mom because they did not enjoy living in a run in a backyard. They are still kicking as far as I know.

And yes they are pretty! My silver ones are turning out really nice as well.

Sounds like selling the silkies was a good decision. I hope the right job comes along for you soon.

My husband complained at least once a week about them, so it was necessary. I've mentioned on this thread multiple times I think about his disdain for Silkies. No offense to the breed or breeders that like them. He just thinks they are a useless novelty. They survived our blistering cold winter, so they are tougher than I gave them credit for though. The people that bought them had small children and they squealed with delight when they saw the birds. Those chickens will be very spoiled and loved, I'm sure. lol
