Silkies are actually very tough. I don't know why people say otherwise. My husband complained at least once a week about them, so it was necessary. I've mentioned on this thread multiple times I think about his disdain for Silkies. No offense to the breed or breeders that like them. He just thinks they are a useless novelty. They survived our blistering cold winter, so they are tougher than I gave them credit for though. The people that bought them had small children and they squealed with delight when they saw the birds. Those chickens will be very spoiled and loved, I'm sure. lol
You can do alot wrong with storing eggs and still get it right.I store them pointy-side down in a cool but not cold place and I can collect them for up to a week, right? Any hatchoholic chime in. Unsolicited advice welcome.
Now that you've said that, it's no longer unsolicited.Unsolicited advice welcome.
What if you stick them the next day under a broody hen? Just to see, I put a couple of the leghorn eggs from after the game stag had had access to them under a buff orpington who would prefer to live her life in a nesting box.You can do alot wrong with storing eggs and still get it right.
All good info! I don’t plan on storing them longer than a couple days. This will be a real science experiment. And I am making it extra fun by picking up chicks later this week tooAbout now I'm thinking this is a rather long post that isn't much help besides showing Moony doesn't have any set routine for egg storing.
