The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop- A Role Play

"Oh, uh, Kipp. Or Kipper heh. N-nice to meet you." He said awkwardly taking his hand over the table and giving it a shake.
“Kipp, nice to meet you too, I’m Take.” he replied, gripping Kipps smaller hand as they shook. As they did, Take’s ears picked up on the bug conversation, “Pftt, I bet crushing those bugs would be no problem” he snorted boastfully.

Fox, after finally building up the courage to come into the main room, slid into one of the only open seats left, beside Brid and Colby. He offered them a small smile, and a half-hearted "hello" under his breath, before looking at Laurel. "She's right, I believe. If these bugs are as large as we are led to believe, then there is no way that we will be capable of fighting them."
He looked around the room with a small shrug, before dragging his gaze to Laurel's. "I don't quite know what you are expecting us to do in this situation, Mr. Laurel. It seems like a lost cause."

“Well, that wasn’t supposed to be an issue,” Laurel muttered.
“The size of insect isn’t quite what you’re thinking. Probably only the size of Mr. Beck here. Most of them, anyways...” Kyle shuddered.
Cameron cringed. She loved bugs, they were awful beneficial for her gardening hobby. But she and bugs had always had a relationship where it was obligatory to stay out of each other’s errr... beeswax. To actually touch a bug outside of butterfly ladybug territory, -especially a supersized one- was never something she considered for her bucket list.
Let alone a zillion of those nasties.

“We’re going to try to keep all bug fighting to a last resort,” Will Laurel explained. “There is something we can do to stop them before they emerge, but we might be running out of time.”

Annie shuddered at the mention of spiders. She'd only gotten stuck in a web once, but it was more than enough to make her never want to see one ever again. A spider 1/6th her size could do way worse than just tangle her up and have her trapped for hours.

"Stopping them before they get here sounds like a great plan!" She said enthusiastically.
"Okay, wait." Colby flinched at his own words. He didn't know where this surge of daring was coming from, but he went with it anyway and continued in a tinny voice that somehow resonated across the cafe. "Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Laurel, sir, but what about our lives back home?" It was hard not to notice the increasing amount of eyes traveling to him now and he considered sinking beneath the table again. "Are we, by any chance, on, like, an alternate timeline so that no one will notice we're gone while we're here or..." Colby's mouth dried up along with his dwindling nerve. This was stupid, why did I say anything, time is unstoppable and unchangeable, teleportation isn't a thing, bugs should be harmless specks and some are endangered, not endangering, his anxious mind rambled. "...just, because this is all so...I thought..."

"There were arachnids in that mix," Colby affirmed, unconsciously clicking his nails against the tabletop. "So pretty sure that alludes to giant spiders." He didn't have aversion to any insects himself -he liked to think he'd made friends with quite a few invertebrate inhabitants of his garden- but surely a good portion of this group did. After all, didn't arachnophobia affect like 10% of the global population? And factor in a considerable size increase...yeah, there'd be some issues if they were seriously being asked to fight monster bugs. Fighting monster bugs. Yeah, this is...pretty beyond your average weekday.

Brid nodded in greeting, studying the tawny-haired newcomer for a moment as he spoke before looking back at Will Laurel. Those are still seven inch bugs, She thought, frustrated. And there are a lot of them. She piped up. “Colby has a point. We can’t just disappear, ‘cause if we do we’ll be reported missing, Amber alerts will be going off, the police will be searching, someone will recognize us eventually, and you’ll probably be charged with kidnapping because no member of law enforcement is going to believe that magical stones transported us to a ‘mother amulet.’”

(I love how "real world" everyone is being about being kidnapped. :gig
I'm gonna have to make my own character spreadsheet, I can't keep track of everyone. :3 I Think Annie met Ellie earlier.)
Ellie stood. This is ridiculous! Go find someone to sit with and stop looking like a wimp. She gazed around the room, no one she could see or recognise. She brushed a strand of brown hair behind her ear. She realised she hadn’t plaited her hair yet and quickly swept the hair with experienced fingers into a plait that hung to the middle of her back. She looked around. Nobody she knew.
Annie waved at Ellie, she was pretty sure she had met the girl, but so far this morning everything had been so upside down and crazy she really wasn't sure.

"You could possibly go to jail for doing this, that's the bottom line. For essentially kidnapping kids from all over the country." Fox dropped his gaze, unable to meet the man's gaze any longer. "So? Are we, by any bizarre chance, in a 'alternate timeline' were no one will notice us missing, or are there going to be frantic parents all over the place?"

Name: Colby
Gender: Male
Physical description and abilities:
He's an anthropomorphic fox. :3 Call him a furry if you must.
View attachment 1909303
12 years old, 4'10", could stand to gain a few pounds. Big brown eyes and a shock of red hair that flops into his face. Fur is thickest on his chest and tail. Wears wide-necked tees and skinny jeans. Typically has airpods/earbuds in. Goes barepaw 99.9% of the time.
He's reserved, but warms up soon enough and has much wholesome happiness to share <3. Down-to-earth and content with whatever. But very innocent and easily scandalized. Skittish; easily startled by sudden movement and loud noises. Generally a mild, likable boi.
Exceptional abilities include his fox-strength hearing, sense of smell, and speed.
He likes clean alternative rock and acoustic music, sustainable food, the Earth and its inhabitants, jogging, and smoothies.
His banes are meat, abuse, pollution, sedentary lifestyles, and loud noises.
Overall, he's a sensitive vegan tree hugger. Also, a closeted fanboy that jams to his tunes in extreme private and has a highly select taste in shows.
Reason the person was chosen (or happened upon a stone): He found it in his garden's rain gauge (which he checks every day in order to keep a very accurate log of local precipitation.) Maybe he was chosen because he's got progressive moral and good vibes to share? Or it could be because of his speed or senses. Those are good, too.
( :O I didn't see the picture!!! :D )

(I’m not quoting things)
Clary was just about to reply to Lavender when people started talking about kidnapping. “I agree with the others. I don’t want to sound stuck-up or cliche, but my dad is a cop. If I suddenly go missing he’s going to have every officer in my city looking for me, and they won’t stop until I’m found,” She said, staring at Will. “So you need to let us go home and tell people what’s going on and get ready, or you’re going to be very unhappy with what is eventually going to happen.”

Take couldn’t prevent himself from eavesdropping, his hearing was exceptionally advanced than that of a human. The talk about getting back to their lives and the families they left behind. He gritted his teeth, sure he wanted to go back, but what would he go back to? He didn’t have any family and basically lived on his own, thrown aside and viewed as undesirable to families that could adopt him. Jealousy filled him, and his body temperature soared as he clenched his fists to suppress his emotions.

Blair, arms and legs crossed, glowering at the group of children chattering about going home to there families. She suppressed a snort. Mom probably thinks it's some sort of Werewolf sorcery that I did, or something crap.
Though she noticed one person, sitting alone in the table not far from her. It wasn't his vibrant pink hair or three eyes that threw her off, no, that she didn't care about, it was the burning emotion in said three eyes.
She glanced at Kit beside her, the dogs eyes trained on the food at the counter. "Stay," she growled, knowing the dog would most likely try to take it. But her gaze drifted back to the guy in the table.
And she stood.
She wasn't sure what drove her to socialize with someone she didn't know, but what was the fun in not meeting knew people?
"They're worrying too much," she sighed, flourishing her hand towards the group of the kids fretting over getting home. "I'm Blair, by the way. Mind if I sit here? Seems like you could use the company."
