I sold my Easter Eggers a few months back, I do miss the colored eggs but the fellow I sold them to loves them so. Today however I'm gathering eggs and....I find a blue egg? Does any other chicken lay a blue egg? It looks like a pullet egg, so it must be one of my younger girls, but my younger girls consist of a Black Jersey Giant, a Buff Orpington, and a ? that is brown with golden speckles down her neck, with green legs, that was a purebred ? egg that someone slipped me in that particular hatch.

Green legs, but no tufts, no beard, white ears, and could that possibly be the blue egg layer? If so, what in the heck is she? Please help. I will post pictures of her tomorrow if that would help, but I'm befuddled.

A photo would help, but the green legs kind of give it away that it's some sort of EE/mixed breed. I have an EE with no beard or tufts.

Okay was able to get two decent pictures, her legs in the sun are more of a slate grey/black. Maybe barely green on the toes. You really think she could be the blue egg layer? Her neck is so smooth unlike any Easter Egger I have ever had.

Can an EE have muffs as a chick and loose them as she gets older? My EE had muff when I got her but now she is 4 weeks old and she has almost none. Will they come back? I loved her muffs! :(

This girl never had muffs or a beard. She was just a bonus egg thrown in with some Buff Orpington eggs I bought. She should be purebred, as this person had all their breeds separated. But I have no idea what she is supposed to be.

That is an Easter Egger. Looks JUST like mine. The place I bought mine from (Ideal) said they were Americaunas, but one has tufts, 2 don't. And so I'm pretty sure they aren't pure. Mine have that same golden "mane" and dark tail feathers. They are really pretty chickens even if they aren't purebreds!
