The Mystery of Skye and Kate's Deaths Is Probably Solved...

Oh Cyn,
My heart goes out to you. What a terrible way to lose a beautiful hen. I had a hen in my lap on the coast today. They have beautiful eyes. I don't know which I would be soooo hurt or sooo angry. God Bless you Gloria Jean

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost Skye and Kate. I'll definately check my feed too. I store them in plastic garbage cans.
Thanks for the heads up.

Know that their death, through your posting, may save others.
I believe this is something that not everyone thinks about, and this will alert many!

I'm so sorry, Cynthia. What a terrible thing to happen.
My silkie roo is not able to walk right now, and I've been thinking about the feed. I think I'll go get fresh in the morning. And he's molting as well.

I hope nobody else gets sick. Thank God you discovered the problem.

Karen, good to see you posting again. Sorry about your bird's problem. I have never had a problem with mold in feed till this bag, not since we've had birds. I just wish it had been obvious earlier than the very last portion of the feed. Nothing to be done now except change the way I handle the storage so I can see the condition of the feed all the way to the bottom. Everyone else seems just fine, thank goodness.

That's terrible. I have seen mold in my birds food in the feeder and I'm sure they've ingested some somehow, but the mold that was in your bird's food must have been a virulent strain, so sorry to hear
