-The Mythics RP-

(Well there was that one time when Tobias got picked up by like three separate people in different places all at the same time, so I say anything is possible.)
This is an illusion

I will almost definitely be returning that line somewhere to the format of my profile in the near future

Vhanya’s stomach dropped. She dared not move a muscle, save for lightly lowering her raised arm back to the desk, and assuming an easy grin.
Hidden from Ember’s view was Bailey’s face, some unspoken warning or assurance on his brow. He turned back and addressed the Harpy, his voice even and calm, “I hate to disappoint you, lass, the past logbook was buried with Captain Alastar. But, if you’d like,” he folded his hands, “I served under him for nearly twenty years and can tell you much.”
While he talked, Vhanya had pressed trembling hands into her lap. She doubted her voice could stay as constant as her grin.
Curse her sensitive sixth sense- Ember felt a coat of darkness swamp Vhanya's otherwise unfaltering existence. The Harpy nearly flinched at the sudden shift in the air, like a tide suddenly sucking back to sea, though she could never place why. She'd best tread lightly here.
"I see," her voice was almost an unusual calm for her otherwise standoffish demeanor.
The surgeon had a strange gentleness to his expression, one that seemed unfitting for a pirate. It was of few things capable of prying beneath the shield she held against him, for something in his aged eyes seemed to have already known a place on the other side.
"That... would be greatly appreciated," she said slowly, her eyes wandering blankly to the maps covering the desk. "If you find the time."

“Unless the crew comes to blows, I’ll have little work to do in the coming days,” replied Bailey, “you can find me in my quarters or the Surgery, if I’m not here.”
Vhanya had tamped down the sick feeling by the time that Bailey finished, she tapped a sharp claw at the map before her, “come have a look, Ember. Before you retire.”
She laid an arm back over her chair, holding the harpy in a level gaze. She couldn’t lose her composure like that again.

Her wings widened and folded back again, almost as if taking a breath, and the Harpy straightened, stepping closer to the desk.
"I suppose I'll seek you out in the morning then," she replied a bit more formally to the surgeon. "Once we have set sail and are on a steady course."
Vhanya's study of maps was more organized chaos than Bailey's.
"If you don't mind Captain, I would like to know a very detailed layout of the charted voyage."
She cocked her head toward the Scorpion.
"I'm always keen to fine details."

Vhanya responded with an easy smile, and stood up from her chair to further assess the map. “Of course, of course.”
We’ll strike out due East,” she traced a finger out from the Cove, then downwards, “this curve here, towards Undermine, is a route used by King’s ships, in want of secrecy and smooth sailing.” she glanced up to Ember, then Bailey, who had donned spectacles and was noting something in his logbook, “grandfather was once a captain in the King’s navy— he knew this route was seldom used save for ships and cargo of the highest priority.”
There was glint in her yellow eyes when she returned her gaze to the Harpy, “you understand, I’m certain.”

"Perfectly."
Ember's eyes had begun to glow dimly, gradually lighting with interest as she watched Vhanya's quick fingers trace across the map.
"I couldn't have thought of a better course and target."
She snuck the captain a fiery glance, the first time a true light of excitement filled her eyes.
"No doubt the route will be well guarded- I don't think his 'Highness' would send such precious cargo in anything less than the most elite ships."
As her gaze fell back to the maps, her lips turned up at the corner with a coy taint, accompanied benevolently by a dip of her slender brows.
"I wouldn't have it any other way. If you've faith that the Quicksilver could handle such a quest, then so do I."

And herein lay the opportunity she hungered for. A raid of such a scale would be run through with risk and danger, and the demand for control, expertise, and command would be high. If successful, she'd set the infuriating first mate back in his place, below her, where he belonged. She'd prove her own worth again, fulfill her own mission, and shrug off the doubt and disrespect of these meddling creatures.
And oh, how fulfilling the thrill of the hunt would be.

(There is something unquenchable satisfying about playing a character who rides the line of good and evil)
