Nautalis slowly gave way to a low, wicked-sounding laugh, shaking her head as she shifted to lean back in her seat, pulling the creased paper from her pocket again.
Her golden eyes narrowed to otherworldly slits as she fixed them on the man again, the look of fake surprise completely dissolved.
"I have no interest in you, human. At least, not any such interest as that."
She laid the paper on the table, spun it around with quick fingers, and slid it across the table to rest in front of the man. His companion's face was sketched out in sharp black ink over the discolored poster, with the exception of her hair, which was longer in the drawing, and her features were less detailed.

The woman's eyes narrowed down into tight slits as she said the word, "human." Sea Dragon, Jintao feared as he took note her golden-orange eyes. The rumors he had heard of these type took over in his mind. He swallowed hard and permitted his eyes to look at the parchment.
Jintao slid the paper closer to him. The drawing was Lyra, though below it said "Jordan Tay." He frowned. That's why that man had called her "Jordan."
"Uh. What," he scratched the back of his neck, "is your interest?"

The woman's eyes narrowed down into tight slits as she said the word, "human." Sea Dragon, Jintao feared as he took note her golden-orange eyes. The rumors he had heard of these type took over in his mind. He swallowed hard and permitted his eyes to look at the parchment.

"And perhaps you should thank me for 'handling' the scout that was sent here to track you down. So then, my interest lies in wondering this- who are you?"

Jintao slid further down his seat. If he was permitted a weapon and knew how to use one with his left hand, he would have pulled out a blade.
"Does it matter who I am?" his voice quivered a little. "If you know me enough to know that I was being followed, then you should know who I am."
