Jintao picked up the dagger. It was lightweight in his hand and its steal blade reflected off the tavern's dull light. He held it at an angle, eyeing its straightness.
He set the weapon down and took her hand and shook it. "It's a deal then." He laid his hand down on the dagger, feeling the ridges on the handle and the smoothness of the blade. "How long do you suppose this mission will take."

"Not perfectly clear," Nautalis said as she brought her hand back.
"I am hoping to find a ship that will be out of port by tomorrow, and it must be one rounding the Southeastern shores." The Siren gave him a sideways smile.
"I realize I ought to mention it will likely be a pirate ship. We will be intercepting a certain crew that is due for Undermine this week, very soon. The whole of the trip could take between a week or two, give or take."

"A pirate ship," he rolled the words around in his head. That was what he had left before in his rebellion. His crew was gone, so no one should know him for that, unless Liam made an appearance and told everyone everything. With Liam working for the King, Jintao hoped that would be enough to not cross paths with him, and if he did, no one would listen to the Destruction's betrayer.
"What size ship? If it's a larger vessel, we'll want a ship to match it, if not bigger."

"Hm. Perhaps something fast. We may end up having to settle for what options are available, but something along the lines of a frigate would be preferred."

Shem caught his breath, his fear of being seen by the soldiers outside his quarters before release hours was starting to quell, and he stepped inside to face Tuun, his only real friend.
“Brother, what’s wrong? For fazias sake you’re pale as the Milky Way. What did you see?” Tuun asked worriedly, grabbing the hilt of his sword out of practiced habit. He stepped closer and shut the door behind Shem.
“It’s…it’s a wyvern. They have a wyvern and he says they’re going to use him as a weapon. I fear it’s for the attack on Undermine.” Shem said, looking up and meeting Tuuns gaze. Before Tuun could reply, Shem was already speaking again.
“But, thank the stars, I have better news. I met a Harpy scout at the stone-hole, she’s going to get the others and bring help! They got our message!” He said, a contagious smile spreading across his face.
Tuun smiled as well, throwing his hands into the air and shaking his fists.
Shem pawed the ground with his hooves, feeling the need to quietly release his excitement. “We’re going to be free.”

"It comes down to what options present themselves. I will scout for us a crew in the morning."
Nautalis stood up, tucking the scarf over her face again.
"I will see you at the docks then, sunrise, no later."
She retrieved the sheet of paper, stuffing it back into her pocket.
"You have a name, yes?"
