I think she is...but everyone tells me the legs are the wrong color?

They look right to me.. Looks just like an Australorp

Runner/ Pekin mix. They certainly have the Runner stance

Good. Funny thing is, I wanted some BA when I got the eggs for my broody this winter. I've always wanted to try them since they seem to get some great reviews. I guess I can't be SURE, but when I look at photos of all the blacks she seems closest to BA.

She was the smallest chick and remains pretty petite - although is the same size as the Swedes now that they have all evened out in size. So I'm thinking not JG because of the size.

I have to wonder if it happened already tday and I missed it. I will catch it on film at some point for sure.

I've kept mine going since last fall without any problems, I just keep adding feed and water and sometimes a bit of ACV or whey. Smells just fine. That's for the adults.
I tried with chick starter for my newly hatched chicks and it was terrible, threw it out each time. The layer feed is cracked grains with all the additives and the chick feed is tiny crumbles, no obvious grains in it. I fermented the same way as I do the adults. Kind of discouraging since I really wanted to have them on fermented feed. BTW, I'm pretty sure that there is no animal protein in the mix. Why is this happening?

I am using grower/starter crumble for my chicks. I started it a few days before I got them but it does smell different then the Big girls FF that has oats & other things in it.
But I do see bubbles when I stir it and its outside in the sun so I know its warm enough

And the babies are eating it up.

The pics of I have seen all have grey legs. I even googled it and they show grey legs
