The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

You could always give it to the birds...it would be gone in a flash!

But...hmmmm.... how much do you have? You could use it to to make a batter for coating fish or something like that.

its good in potato leek soup.

but, you can just give it to your hens as is, mine gobble it up.

OH YAH! Potato soup or broccoli soup or cheese soup or.....

Aoxa - I've always been under the impression egg eating - if the hens are intentionally breaking them to eat them - was due to a need for more protein.

extra buttermilk? I bought a quart when I started the FF, and have no idea what to do with the rest now...

i'm not getting ANY eggs right now, or I would so something like a quiche or eggs & pancakes, but...

any suggestions please? think stuff for dinner, i'm not into baking much.
Freeze in ice cube tray so you have small usable portions for baking or soaking meat in.

I always thought it was "Darling Husband" and then DS & DD were "Darlings" also. But then I thought IMHO was "In My Humble Opinion" for a long time, which has a slightly different nuance than "Honest." When I realized what most people thought it was, I stopped using it so much!

I have always used IMHO to mean In My Humble Opinion, and DH to mean Dear Husband. Same basic meaning as Darling. I had no idea the H in IMHO was interpreted any other way.

Cold fall day today. Sophie was enjoying the pumpkins a friend sent over for the hens.

Refilled girls water. I put ping pong balls in it to see if it will stop it from freezing. Suppose to get in the 20s tonight with a chance of snow flurries. Coops all set for winter but I refuse to plug in heated dog bowls till there is snow on the ground for the winter.
Girls look horrible with molt. I sure wish they would hurry up so they will start laying again.

Aoxa I have no other suggestions on egg eaters. Mine have only eaten ones I broke for them.
