It must do okay in dusty barn/coop conditions?
So far so good in my dusty coop. If I can figure out how to get a recording from there to here, I'll post one.

Yeah ditto on Del's heatwave!

We'll be at 80+ by the end of the week.

So unfair TeaChick!!

It was -6 this morning, 24 in the coop. It's 9 now and getting ready to snow...again. We just cleaned up from a storm on Sunday. I'll be a snowplow widow tonight!

For what it's worth I do feel sorry for you all (and your chickens). I'd rather be farther south than I am; you guys give me perspective not to complain so much. =)

Here's my flock (currently, but minus Beauty). Eddie Lacy is at the top watching over everyone. The next one down is Snoodle. Then the three white Leghorns. Left to right are Caramel, Goldie, and Sandy (in the center), then at the bottom the comb and tail feathers belong to Chocolate.

This is Snoodle. It's hard to get a good shot of her. I'll try to get her in the shade next time. =)

This is Beauty today. She's not a fan of the camera, not really sure what it is or what it might do. Her comb looks better, she's not quite as skinny, her wings aren't sagging (they haven't at any point in this), she looks a little disheveled (but I don't look this good when I feel this badly lol).

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

My ducks came out today for a bit and two or three of the chickens followed them but stayed out less than 5 minutes. The chicken stair tunnel is clear of snow and it lets out into a covered run area with grass and of course some mud now. I have tried all kinds of things, treats, even chasing them out but nope they love the coop. I'm hoping they will leave the coop this weekend.

We are enjoying beautiful weather here too, days have been sunny and in the 60's, will continue for a few more days. One of the great things about OK just when you think you can't stand another day of cold (I am a cold weenie could never survive what you guys do) in comes a warm front to give the strength to get through the next cold snap!!!!

It is going to get up to 40 degrees this week...we are having a heat wave!!!

:weee

Yes we hare suppose to get in the 40s here also.......then freezing rain & more snow

Maybe they just like their coop so much that they find no reason to leave. Be they have a big screen tv and cable hidden in there somewhere :D
Its been in the 20s here. I'm in the house and I'm still cold. :he

It's 26 here now outside and a balmy 78 inside. Nothing like a woodstove to keep me warm :) it warms everything in the house so there are no cold spots and it's not like forced air where it's only warm when it's blowing warm air :)
