I am afraid though, the photographer has alot to do with it!

I absolutely laughed out LOUD with the duck pictures... That is so funny.. she is truly giving him grief. Also,, ducks doing the nasty just looks hysterical.

So, when we don't need straw all over the barn anymore I'm going to run it over with the mower and dump it into the run. I'm really hoping it will eventually break down and change the soil in the run, which at the moment is like sandy dust.
That's brilliant!

I HATE straw since it takes so long to deteriorate and I hate the mold issues that seem to come w/that territory. But mowing it into small pieces...never thought of that.

Aoxa, I'm not a turkey person (they kind of freak me out) but that is the prettiest turkey I have ever seen! I didn't know they could look like that! And I am so jealous of your coop set up. IT looks like you have a whole barn there. I thought my chickens had it pretty good but yours live in paradise!!!!!!!!

A few pages back (well more like 10-20 now) we were discussing fertile eggs VS non-fertile eggs. BDM Was supposed to get a picture of a non-fertile egg. I have one of a fertile egg. It is very clearly fertile.

From one of my RSLS who just started laying.

Aoxa think u once again for all your beautiful pictures. I wish I could frame some they a truly that beautiful :)

To me the duck on the bottom looked like she was getting squished lol And that gander & Tom turkey are stunning !!
And Clem looks so beautiful. My 2 dogs also love to play in the snow all day.

Found the Thermo Cube we were talking about a couple days ago. At Home Depot. It took the asking of four clerks including the lady at the information desk. I couldn't remember what these were called and the first three employees had no idea what they were or if they carried them. So then had to wait around another 1/2 hour while the guy that knew what it was tried to find it. In the plumbing department of all places. But... I bought one. $13.
We stopped at Ace Hardware two blocks away from Home Depot on the way home and they were selling them for $19 !!!

Tractor supply also has them

Mine have never laid an egg yet. Born early July 2012. Think it's soon? She is squatting for him readily now :D I'm excited. I'd love to give call eggs to a broody.
Well I can see THAT one!!!!!!!!

And your photos are so beautiful they almost seem like they can't be real!!!
Aww Sue, you make me blush! Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks so much. I think it's a bit of both with the camera. I've had lots of practice. :)

I do have a whole barn. I took more pictures of the set up of the new FF close which is now insulated and heated. I'll have to post those a bit later! :)
Aoxa...would you remind me what your camera is? I think we all have "camera envy". (And I'm a graphic design person in my work life!)
It's a Canon Rebel T3 EF-S with a Canon EF 55-250MM lens. My lens does a lot better than the older lens that came with the camera does. Chickens/ducks like to stay pretty far away, so the lens helps out in that aspect. I can get really close crisp shots.

Well these will work well for you know what! :D

I do plan on removing one of the rooms out of DL. The layer room. I want to scrub it down and use that great recipe for white wash.
Does anyone have a quick refrence link to the white wash recipe? I remember wanting to bookmark it... but of course,, I forgot.
