To me the duck on the bottom looked like she was getting squished lol And that gander & Tom turkey are stunning !!
And Clem looks so beautiful. My 2 dogs also love to play in the snow all day.

Yeah, I saw my gander step on one of those ducks the other day. I nearly died. I'm like "She's dead. I know it!" but she was fine. Scary though!

I make a calendar every year

Last year's calendar is now all take apart and presented in our barn.
I still haven't framed any of my pictures. I should though! But which one? It would be soo hard to choose..


These aren't my chickens, but I was taking some photos today of the Redpolls enjoying the bird feed we've put out for them.. Not as bad as the starlings who were ROOSTING with my chickens the other day! No joke!! I was screaming as something came flying over my head this morning! Chickens don't fly!

Our bay window is never boring. We see this all the time. Never a break in bird watching from the comfort of our house.

Here is where we hung up last year's calendar photos Looks like a club house.



The heated FF closet now finally has doors. We did it 2 ways to make it easier to open and close.


My FIL insulated it with leftover material. We have a block heater in there and it keeps the little room at 75 or thereabouts. Minimal heat is escaping.

No ducks were harmed in the making of this mating ritual.

Even though it looks like Randy lost a few feathers, I'm sure he's fine. He'll live to mate another day.

Oh and.. Yes.. I know I'm posting a lot of photos.. But I just had to share this last one.


Doors were on sale for $5 a door. Brand new. We got this AMAZING country style door for $5.65. It now separates the sheep from the turkeys. The turkeys can go back and forth, but the sheep can't.

That'll show them.

Also going to split their pen up into 2 for next year's breeding season (as our ground will still be frozen for this year's and we can't get them out until a fence is up)

Actually she is the one that encouraged me to get that pair. I was "Ohh look.. Betty and Bruce REALLY need a boyfriend." I was expecting a NO NO NO. I got a "Sure. I think that would be awesome." I jumped right on that

Turkeys are amazing. I just love their antics.

Tom Gobbles every time a rooster crows. It's really entertaining

A few pages back (well more like 10-20 now) we were discussing fertile eggs VS non-fertile eggs. BDM Was supposed to get a picture of a non-fertile egg. I have one of a fertile egg. It is very clearly fertile. From one of my RSLS who just started laying.

Whats the best way to take a picture of cracked eggs? I tried tonight but the lights above & or the flash made it impossible to see anything

No flash at all. I put mine in the sun. Looks like that is what BDM did as well

BDM, LOL I love your blue silkie. She's my favourite of the two. She's a nice dark blue too. Did they tell you black? Seems she is not black to the roots, so I am saying blue without knowing what you call her colour.
