So ready for spring, how about you guys?

We have a "sand box" under our roosts, a large wooden "tray" w/ raised sides we just rake the poop off the top into a bucket and refill the sand as needed. We go to a local riverbank and dig and haul 5 gallon buckets back in the back of the truck a couple times a year. We also brood on sand. (when we don't have a broody and have to brood ourselves)

that's entirely adorable... makes me kinda sorta want goats but hubby would probably shoot them and then me. LOL

I have a sheet of heavy plastic bent like this in the girls run....all they ever do is nap under it. Very disappointing!

Oh well, goats can't lay eggs, so I'll stick with the chickens.

They do not stand in it....they like to use the pickets as a step to get on and off the roost. On;y advantage to the tarp was I was able to easily adjust the size. Made it a little too small the first time....
