Delisha, you're being unusually cruel.

Quote: Yup its straight. I have a wood stove insert in a fireplace. No curves or bends that I know of or that the chimney sweep has mentioned. I also use a spray recommended by the guy who cleans my chimney. It breaks up the creosote so there is no build up. He said the chimney is def cleaner with me using the spray

Set up two batches? I think I'm getting partially ferminted food from the contents of cow stomaches...Am I far off? WHILE I'M AT IT: As mentioned before, I feel pretty fortunate and have just about all a man should need or want....except Grand Children. I do have part of the required equation...Any match makers out there??? PART ONE.....
Perhaps we need to set up a match maker thread?!!! I see he's at least able to bring home the bacon... er... venison!
Thank God I'm to young for grandchildren... I'll just keep telling myself that. ;-) My oldest just got married in Sept and hubby and I still act like we are 25, so I'd really rather not think about grandkids for a LONG time.

6 degrees here now with temps dropping fast and a windchill of -30. Its snowed most of the day as well. I have been at work since 7 and here till 7 so my Mom stopped over to collect eggs. Girls were in run happy to see her, chicken wing bones & her Nana crack container (scratch)

She just texted me she got 6 eggs today.............that's the most ever in a day.......& that's with these arctic temps. Apparently the girls like Nana watching them more.....

We heat with wood exclusively. Our wood stove has a reburner so it's very efficient, but we will likely use an extra rick or two this year above or normal annual 3 cords. It's just been a weird winter. We usually keep 6 cords at any given time... 3 cut and another 3 split and ready. I can't imagine heating any other way... I'd never be warm.
Not to mention our zero electric bill.
I like wood heat and coal heat is better but when I can use natural gas at 0 cost, I like the math. When I was a kid we used wood and coal...even used wood and coal to cook with. No doubt about it..the heat is more comfortable.

Ok..now I'm wondering if your flue is high enough above the roof line?? If the fire can't draw good, it would be hard to get anything to burn.

Edit: If your flue is straight up, there should be very little if any need to clean creosote because it runs straight back down into the fire and is burned. I Just can't get my head around this one...something is not right.

See below..

Yes..a very dead bird

I let my confidence in my birds over come common sense. I did an autopsy on him and I was very surprised at what I found in some area's.

I did take pictures..It was a remarkable discovery. I did kill him. However I think if he did not have a particular issue i discovered he would have died. At least that is what I am telling myself. k
Kendra..poor Cuties now has to take chicks instead of a breeding male..
She is out of a breeding season. I wonder if I should take her hen..at least she would have some chicks..what do you think?
I think that I'd explain what happened to her and ask her what she'd prefer a hen w/ chicks, chicks or wait for a male.

What actually was wrong with the roo?

Oh and congrats on getting the new puppy. Joe will be ******!!!!!!! Just make him some chocolate cake and plan to keep the dog in at night but out during the day. It would be a good compromise for the both of you.

Good news for you! Even when you have grand children, you can still act like you're 25. Grand kids won't affect that... but the ticking time clock... now, that's an other story.

Our weather sounds like yours. Usually you get it a day or so after us. Wonder what that means?
