The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

Can someone tell me if there are age progression chick photos on BYC? I think I saw them once and cannot find them now. I think my chicks are older than I was told. I don't care if they are......just want to know how to adjust them to the outside world. Or a schedule for adjusting them to being outside. Thnx

Just raise their heat source a little bit every week or change the intensity of the bulb (if you're using light) to cool their area. They can get back underneath it if they need to but their whole area doesn't need to be 95* Allow them out into the sun and free exchange of air. You'll know if they're too cold. Provide shade in case the sun is hot.

I will see if I can get some pics tomorrow. Thanks Lacy and Chic.

Maybe they are just two weeks old...but they seem pretty big to me.

they grow so stinking fast. At two weeks they're getting their little feathers and jumping on top of things and full of naughty. I'll try to think of how old mine are.. my brain is mush

I do appreciate it. Wish I had it all together but I just don't usually have all that. Maybe one day I'll do an herbals and oil stock up

@vpatt. The truck brooder pic I posted back a page or so, those chicks are right about 2 weeks and 2-3 days.

And here are some 5-6 weekers...
