It's warmer here today, a whopping 5F! The girls are venturing out today. They don't stay out long.

I have quite a few infertle ones I think. I candled already. I could not stand it. They are pretty easy to see. Very light colored eggs.On Friday i will use a notebook and get some numbers. Looks like at least half are good. The splash are clear.

I heard from Catdance Silkies. I have an appointment to pick up eggs and choose breeders from her grow out pens the end of February!

Oh no!

I have very rarely had an infertile silkie egg. My boys are very good with keeping all the girls covered. Some of these higher end birds can't see well enough to mate.

Hoping to fertile ones turn out well. I like that you can candle silkie eggs so early. I can see development at 48 hours, and definite development at 72 hours.
