The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

Have you all checked out the BYC interactive map? If you have a Google account, you can put your (approximate) location on the map as well as what you raise, what you sell and so-on. It's really pretty neat! Once you're signed in to google, you can mark yourself on the map.

See it Here.

Sorry jockeyeba. I wasn't meaning to ignore you but I just haven't had a bird with scaly leg mite in over 22 years. I don't have any images to share.

Egg #2 from my Blue Maran!!! I promise I won't post every one :) I just can't wait for it to get darker and darker :) It's so teeny!

Ok, back from Hawaii. No way I am gonna go through all 978 posts. It would take me days(very slow reader). If there is anything major I missed, please let me know approx day and time and I will try and find it. Otherwise I am jumping back in from here.

Had to start one of my FF buckets over, it got a little tooooo fermented. Smelled like cider. And now that I am back all the adult birds will go back on FF. Pretty sure my GSL laid her first egg yesterday or today. Dark brown and a little smaller than my BR's egg. Just confirmed with my chicken sitter that he collected all eggs yesterday, so she did lay her first today. So I am back up to 6 layers. And both my teen EE's squatted for me today, several times, so maybe some colored eggs soon.
