I am guessing ACV is the way to go to keep this problem in check.No deep litter method for me--I pick up the poop daily from their coop, run and my yard. And they do have run of my small yard during the day--sunshine,when available--lol!! I am guessing my soil is rich in oocystes(I think that what they are called?)

Oh - and a note to certain OTs whose knowledge and wisdom we treasure...

The purpose of this thread is to share knowledge on keeping chickens as organically and as naturally as possible. I know we have all had feelings about Bee's absence, but finger pointing will have no place on this thread. As I have mentioned on the Road thread, it can be very hard for folks to keep religion out of their posts when it is such an important part of their life. I deeply respect Bee for her convictions!

Ultimately, it boiled down to BYC rules which state:

You can not come on this forum and talk about adult topics, porn, drugs, hate speech, etc. We also don't allow PETA or Cock Fighting topics and discourage religious and political topics. BYC was not established as a forum of freedom of expression... there are other forums out there that allow this, but I promise 99.3% of you won't like them as much as you like BYC (for the .7% that do, they usually end up being unhappy here and some get banned)."

This is a BYC issue, and not one that was argued about by myself or anyone else on the Road thread. Lets all remember there were a number of posts that have now been removed by BYC moderators - do not unfairly assume that it was the regular contributors to the thread that were solely at fault.

I do not feel that she was "run off" by people participating in the Road thread - there are misunderstandings and disagreements on many threads out here, and Bee is above all that garbage. Bee has deep and strong convictions, and she is doing what she needs to do to stay true to those convictions and true to herself.

That said -
People who participated in the Road thread and now on this thread are here for one reason - to LEARN.

There is nothing more valuable or useful than knowledge. For that reason, I will not change the title to remove "OTs Welcome!" The knowledge and insight the OTs on BYC have is like gold to those of us here to glean that knowledge. We hope you will participate.

Now then... we are going to move forward. Please continue with the sharing of knowledge!
