I hope it's a pullet! It was sexed although I know that it's not guaranteed. I'm 90% sure that the frizzle will end up a roo though. Maybe it will be a quiet roo and I can keep him...![]()
My friend Jamie has peafowl in with his chickens and geese. I don't know if they sleep somewhere different, but I wouldn't think they would be better than a turkey with predators. The turkeys are really good... but they can be bad with roosters, and will kill a weak chicken if they sense it's weakness.Hawks & a Peacock

Anyone here have any peafowl experience? If this is typical, and they get along w/chickens, it may be an inexpensive way to deter hawks...

I do know that peafowl are LOUD. Like really really loud!
I have thought about getting them, but their cost is just not worth it for me. I would love to have a pair of Emus though... Maybe one day.
