The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

Bulldogma - Thanks so much for starting this new thread!! I have been following The road less traveled every morning and evening for two months now and was so sad when I saw that it was gone! I hate that Bee is not around for a while because she is defiantly a treasure! I have learned so much from her over these last couple of months. Thanks again for all your hard work!

I still like the idea of throwing together a recipe book, I have been putting recipes together for years.
there is an area of the forum just for such things

Nothing at all makes this thread bad. It's just not what the OT's thread or Bee's thread is. No old timers sharing knowledge. The very name, "Natural Chicken Keeping" sounds well, without making anyone mad, wrong. This isn't a replacement for any of those threads that I have always followed. It just isn't.
And I don't think it was meant to replace any of those threads either. So many of us are like minded when it comes to keeping our chickens the natural way and also ourselves too. So it's just "Natural" to start a thread to give us a place to hang out on. Hope you'll reconsider.

Not to back up the thread...but I am catching up...this thread moves REALLY QUICK! I had a question about giving garlic to prevent worms...do your eggs not have a bad flavor?

Stony - I believe she's referring to a "recipe" book of natural remedies for various chicken issues.

No cookies - LOL. At least not ones for people. Earlier we were talking about various herbs and such that help ease congestion in chickens and the use of garlic for parasites.
well that is perfectly suited then

. Still where would it go? It would need to be separate from the thread otherwise it will all get lost in pages and pages of posts.

Mountain Momma is also working on organizing all the recipes that people have posted. You might want to connect with her and join forces!

Sounds great thank you
Oh I mean for remedies, I use herbs to treat and someone said a recipe book of these things would be fun. It would be nice to have one just for remedies

Galanie- I do not understand why negativity must be brought to a thread as positive as such. It seems as though a argument is something you came looking for. There was no reason to even post if you did not like it here. No one is making you even check the thread let alone post. What were/are you looking to get out of your negativity?

Interesting question, since feeding my dogs garlic they smell like they may have come out of an Italian restaurant . The purpose of the garlic is so that it gets into every part of their body and the fleas lice and mites won't want to feed on the dogs/chickens etc. so maybe there would be some taste difference. Might have to put some marinara sauce over those eggs, [sorry i couldn't resist]
