The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

I am having a few over to bake Christmas cookies today. I love to let my grandchildren do what they want, and eat what they want while at grandmas. i tell the adult kids to make sure they get all the veggies in the children before bringing them.

BDM wonderful Blog again. You are so talented!

aoxa, I just love that camera and your ability in capturing your subjects. So beautiful!

The ff...I'm sure it's not for everyone. I don't even bother putting it in a bowl anymore. Just a blob here and there. They eat it right then. off the ground. I have a couple pumpkin half shells that I put a blob in each also. I was going to buy another heated bowl but have decided against it. As soon as I charge my camera's battery, I'll take a couple pic's. I'm not trying to talk you into it, just sharing what is working for me. I live in NY also, and we have been frozen here for some time. I did buy 2 heated bowls for the water. Best investment I've ever made.

My calculations will probably be different than an average flock. I raise and feed out ,,up to three sets of meaties to sell. Meaties eat more food than an average bird. I do not have them long, however when I average it out i still average it out per bird. I would have to have a separate system for flock birds and meaties to get average flock numbers.

It i very messy..you might for the week of the show, just feed half of the feeding of FF and add dry to it. It will be less messy for that week and they still get the added protecting for the show.
I'll try it out. See if it can be any less sloppy. However, my show birds all have beards. Bearded birds + wet food = mess.
